Are all IISERs equal in terms of degree value and recognition?

Yes. All IISERs in India, including Pune, Kolkata, Mohali, Bhopal, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati, and Berhampur, hold the same degree of value and recognition.
They were established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education with the vision of promoting high-quality science education and research. The BS-MS dual degree carries equal prestige across all campuses, whether obtained from Pune or Berhampur.
Internationally as well, universities and employers recognize the IISER brand without differentiating between campuses. Rankings often highlight the older IISERs such as Pune and Kolkata in the NIRF science category, but newer institutes are expanding rapidly with strong government support.
For instance, IISER Bhopal has recently been noted for its work in AI-driven drug discovery, while IISER Kolkata has collaborated on environmental science projects.
The differences mainly lie in the age of the institute, infrastructure, and faculty networks, but academically all IISERs stand on equal ground.
