What is the exam pattern of IISER IAT? How much is it different from JEE and NEET?
IAT PREPARATION
The IISER Aptitude Test often confuses students because they try to compare it with either JEE or NEET. In reality, IAT sits somewhere in between. It is not as math-heavy and lengthy as JEE Advanced, nor is it as biology-dominated as NEET.
IAT includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, and the format is multiple-choice with negative marking. The level of questions is closer to NCERT, which means students with a solid grasp of fundamentals can do well. This makes IAT approachable for both PCM and PCB students.
What makes it unique is balance. A JEE aspirant can rely on math and physics, while a NEET aspirant can rely on biology and chemistry. For PCMB students, IAT is the perfect mix. The diversity in question areas ensures no stream is left out. Understanding this pattern helps reduce anxiety and allows targeted preparation.
