How should droppers balance NEET/JEE and IAT preparation together?
IAT PREPARATION
Many droppers face the challenge of preparing for multiple exams in one year. Balancing NEET, JEE, and IAT can be tricky, but it’s not impossible if planned smartly.
The good news is that IAT’s syllabus overlaps with both JEE and NEET. Physics and Chemistry are almost identical to JEE Main and NEET, while Biology is directly from NCERT like NEET. Mathematics in IAT aligns with JEE-level basics. This overlap means preparation for one exam helps in another.
The strategy should be to prioritize your main target (NEET or JEE) and integrate IAT preparation within it. For example, a NEET dropper should strengthen Biology and Chemistry first, then dedicate time to basic Mathematics for IAT. A JEE dropper can use their strong Maths and Physics, and revise NCERT Biology to cover that section.
Time management is the biggest challenge. Droppers should dedicate fixed slots: for example, mornings for core exam prep (NEET/JEE) and evenings for IAT-specific practice. Solving IAT past papers once a week will keep you exam-ready.
Conclusion: Droppers don’t need separate preparation for IAT. Smart integration of NEET/JEE studies with targeted practice for IAT is the key.
