Which IISER campus is considered the best, and why?

IISER Pune is often seen as the most established campus because it was one of the first IISERs to be founded.

It has strong faculty, well-developed laboratories, and a large alumni network. In the NIRF 2024 rankings, IISER Pune and IISER Kolkata received recognition in natural sciences, highlighting their strong academic performance.

Each IISER, however, has unique strengths. IISER Mohali is well known for physics and nanoscience research, IISER Bhopal has a modern campus and has recently gained attention for research in sustainable energy, and IISER Thiruvananthapuram is recognized for its work in chemistry and materials science.

IISER Tirupati and IISER Berhampur, although newer, are growing quickly and often provide the advantage of smaller batch sizes and closer faculty interaction.

Instead of asking which IISER is the best, it is better to consider research interests, infrastructure, and location. All IISERs carry equal academic prestige.
